Job summary

Intuit Inc. is seeking a Principal, Finance Data Governance & Strategy to own the data foundation behind Finance transformation.

You will define governance, lineage, and controls across ERP and planning platforms, while enabling synthetic data for testing and model development. You will partner with Finance, Technology, and Risk teams to align enterprise data strategy, scale governance, and drive data capability maturity.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in data governance, data strategy, or data architecture, incl. 2–3 years at principal/strategic level
• Experience standing up or scaling a data governance and stewardship program
• Experience governing data through large legacy-to-cloud migrations with a focus on lineage, ownership, and controls
• Experience building or owning enterprise data maps, catalogs, and lineage tooling
• Strong technical fluency including SQL and modern data warehouse environments (Snowflake, BigQuery)
• Experience in regulated or controls-sensitive environments (SOX/ICFR)
• Track record of influencing enterprise-level data strategy and senior stakeholders
• Bachelor's degree in IS/CS/Finance/Business; advanced degree or certifications a plus

Responsibilities

• Own the data governance framework across Finance data domains with clear ownership and access controls
• Build and maintain Finance data lineage and data map for source-to-metric traceability
• Embed governance in platform modernization, ensuring SOX controls are re-established in the target state
• Lead synthetic data strategy for testing, development, and model training
• Design controls with Technology, Risk, Legal, and Security to meet privacy requirements without slowing business
• Represent Finance in enterprise data strategy and align with company-wide policies
• Shape the roadmap for Finance data capability maturity and evaluate emerging data governance capabilities
