Job summary

Safe Harbor Estate Law is seeking a Controller to lead all accounting and financial reporting functions, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and efficiency. You will oversee daily accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance while partnering with executives to provide strategic insights for growth and risk management.

You will mentor the finance team, implement strong internal controls, and streamline month-end close.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree preferred; bachelor’s degree required.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• In-depth knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage Intacct) and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent leadership and communication abilities.
• High ethical standards and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
• Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in GAAP-compliant manner.
• Analyze financial reports and data, trends, costs, revenues, and cash management; ensure policy compliance.
• Lead the annual budgeting process and coordinate with executives on the business plan.
• Develop and monitor internal controls to prevent errors and fraud and manage external audits.
• Supervise and mentor the finance team and communicate financial data to attorneys and stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities for new financial models and process improvements.

Education

Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
