Paul J. Ford, a project-based engineering firm in Columbus, OH, seeks a seasoned Controller to lead accounting and finance functions, ensure accurate reporting, and manage cash, risk, and internal controls.

You will oversee general ledger, project accounting, budgeting, forecasting, billing, tax, and audits while partnering with leaders. You will manage the accounting staff, drive consolidated financial statements, and develop strategic financial plans across departments to improve performance

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required; master’s preferred.
10+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience in a project-based environment.
Experience leading accounting close, financial reporting, and ERP implementations.
Experience mentoring staff and collaborating with leadership.

Responsibilities

Lead the firm’s accounting and finance functions, including general ledger, project accounting, budgeting and forecasting, billing and collections, and tax coordination.
Prepare and present financial statements and department reports for leadership.
Oversee tax filings, audits, cash flow forecasting, and working capital management.
Strengthen internal controls and improve AR/collections and cash forecasting processes.
Partner with leadership to drive strategic financial planning and performance metrics.
