Job summary

The City of Seattle seeks a Finance Advisor to provide financial, analytical, and program implementation support to department leadership and divisions. The role includes budgeting, forecasting, and investment planning across programs and levy-funded initiatives.

You will develop tools, reports, and policies to improve fiscal management and performance, while coordinating projects and ensuring alignment with legislative intent. Hybrid work arrangements apply.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present budget, decision-support materials, and program proposals to leadership and partners.
• Provide financial guidance on budget constraints, revenue, and policies to divisions.
• Lead and support financial planning, budgeting, and fund management activities.
• Assist in preparing budget materials, analyses, and proposals for leadership and partners.
• Develop and maintain financial tools, reports, and procedures for monitoring and control.
• Provide analytical support for program design, investment planning, and fiscal analyses.
• Contribute to levy-funded initiatives with financial tracking and reporting.
• Help revise fiscal, operational, and management policies to align with legislation.
• Support improvement of plan-to-report and procure-to-pay workflows.
• Coordinate projects related to financial systems and policy/process improvements.
