Strategic Finance Team Overview

The Strategic Finance team is focused on solving some of Figma’s most pressing business issues. The team owns the company’s budget, drives annual and quarterly planning processes, allocates and deploys resources efficiently, performs financial analyses, and partners with teams across the company. The role requires someone who is highly analytical and strategic, a great communicator, approaches problems in a structured manner, and is comfortable with ambiguity. You’ll get substantial visibility, focus on the highest-priority business issues, and be plugged into every facet of the business.

Open Roles

• Go‑To‑Market: Focus on the Sales business. In your first 12 months, you will:
  • Own and materially improve Figma’s annual planning and forecasting process
  • Influence resourcing and investment decisions across the Sales business
• Corporate: Focus on revenue and ARR close. In your first 12 months, you will:
  • Own, scale, and materially improve Figma’s top‑line financial ARR close and revenue model
  • Leverage automation to surface data‑driven insights, enabling management to take proactive, margin‑impacting actions
• Growth: Focus on acquisitions. In your first 12 months, you will:
  • Own reporting & forecasting for acquired businesses, including revenue, headcount, and operating expenses
  • Partner with acquired business leadership to identify growth levers, inform pricing & packaging, and build out unit economics frameworks

This is a full‑time role that can be held from one of our US hubs (SF / NY) or remotely in the United States.

What You’ll Do

• Drive alignment on KPIs and key metrics to monitor business performance, drive growth initiatives, and provide visibility into operating performance
• Build annual operating plans, quarterly, and monthly financial forecasts
• Develop cross‑functional partnerships across Figma to formulate business insight and inform executive decision making
• Own, run, and improve financial processes that support Figma’s business
• Partner with Strategic Finance, Data Science, and RevOps to improve ARR data quality and forecasting
• Prepare and deliver presentations for the Executive Team, including the CFO, CMO, and CRO
• Experiment with AI‑driven solutions to automate workflows, enhance accuracy, and elevate the speed and impact of Strategic Finance operations
• Help scale financial operating rhythms as Figma continues to grow
• Become a trusted thought partner to functional leaders and the executive team

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience in investment banking, private equity, strategic finance, Big 4 audit, business operations, or related fields
• Experience in financial planning and creating data‑driven analysis
• Demonstrated ability to build processes from scratch and distill complex issues into structured frameworks and develop concrete action plans
• Experience problem‑solving independently, organizing workload and priorities, and completing tasks on time
• Experience building relationships and communicating with stakeholders across all levels and functions
• Genuine curiosity and passion in the work that you do

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience at a high growth B2B SaaS company, with bonus points for GTM experience
• SQL/AI tooling experience and deep experience working with large data sets

Compensation & Benefits

Annual Base Salary Range: $115,000—$245,000 USD. The exact range is decided based on qualifications, market demands, and work location. For remote roles, the pay is localized by a factor of 80–100% of the range. Figma offers equity, a competitive benefits package (health, dental, vision, retirement contributions, parental leave, mental health & wellness benefits, generous PTO, company recharge days, learning & development stipend, work‑from‑home stipend, and cell phone reimbursement). Eligible roles may also receive sales incentive pay or an annual bonus plan.
