Job summary

Celito Communications in Raleigh, NC is seeking a full-time Fiber Design Engineer to design aerial and underground outside plant fiber routes, perform field surveys, coordinate permits, and prepare construction packages for new builds and relocations.

You will develop route designs, maintain design records and as-built documentation, coordinate with splicers and contractors, and ensure accurate network records across Celito’s fiber network.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience with aerial and underground outside plant fiber network design.
• Experience preparing detailed fiber design, construction, and permitting drawings.
• Experience with NCDOT and municipal permitting.
• Experience with fiber network construction into non-residential buildings.
• Experience coordinating with construction crews, splicers, subcontractors, and external stakeholders.
• Ability to produce and maintain detailed design records and splice records.
• Experience using OTDR and light meters.
• Strong project management and documentation skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Earth, and KMZ.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Design aerial and underground outside plant fiber routes.
• Prepare design and construction drawings for permitting and crews.
• Conduct field site surveys to validate routes and constraints.
• Develop route designs and construction packages.
• Coordinate permitting with NCDOT and municipalities.
• Manage field construction, splicing, and closeout activities.
• Maintain accurate fiber network records and splice data.
• Support project management, estimating, and budgeting.
• Provide field instructions and ensure QA inspections.
• Assist with emergency restoration and relocations.
