The United States Attorneys' Offices (EOUSA/USAOs) is seeking a Budget Analyst to support the Resource Management and Planning (RMP) staff under the CFO. You will perform technical and analytical budgeting duties for budgets across USAOs and EOUSA, ensuring data integrity and facilitating cost-saving measures.

The role involves extracting and consolidating financial data, reviewing budget reports, and preparing justifications for operating plans.

Qualifications

  • GS-7: One of following: Specialized Experience, Education, a combination, or Superior Academic Achievement.
  • Specialized Experience: 1+ year at GS-05 level gathering data for budget requests and reports; check accuracy of budget data; monitor obligations.
  • Education: 1 year of graduate education toward a master's degree in related field (Accounting, Finance, Business) or JD/LLB.
  • OR Combination of Education and Experience: combine percentage of graduate education with qualifying experience to reach 100%.
  • OR Superior Academic Achievement: bachelor's degree with top third, GPA thresholds, or scholastic honor society.
  • GS-9: One of the following: Specialized Experience, Education, or combination.
  • Specialized Experience: 1+ year at GS-07 level gathering and reviewing budget data; identify cost savings; assist in justifications.
  • Education: master's or equivalent graduate degree in related field, or 2 years graduate education.
  • OR Combination of Education and Experience: graduate education beyond one year.

Responsibilities

  • Gather, extract, review, verify, and consolidate financial information and data.
  • Cross-check budget and program data in budget plans and reports.
  • Assist in preparing justifications of operating plans for USAOs and EOUSA.
  • Review expenditure reports and identify potential cost savings.
  • Provide preliminary budget option recommendations to higher grade analysts or the Assistant Director.

Education

Master's degree in Accounting/Finance/Business
Bachelor's degree (related field)
LL.B. or JD if related
