Job summary

Houston Food Bank in Houston, TX seeks a Director of Facilities to lead the Facilities, Safety/Health, HSE and Loss Prevention teams. You will provide strategic direction, ensure regulatory compliance across local, state and federal laws, and drive long-term planning and major capital projects across all locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Industrial Hygiene, Facilities Management, or related field
• 10+ years of related experience
• 5+ years of prior management experience; OSHA experience
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, structural, fire protection, and safety systems
• Experience with outside vendors and subcontractors
• Leadership with strategic, policy, and budget planning experience
• Project management experience preferred; food distribution experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Oversee and lead HFB's Facilities, Safety/Health, HSE, and Loss Prevention programs across all locations
• Develop and manage annual budgets and KPIs for maintenance and safety
• Coordinate Capital Expenditure proposals and project implementations
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (AIB, OSHA, state/federal)
• Develop SOPs for maintenance and safety; manage Workers’ Compensation program
• Lead disaster readiness, COOP, emergency action plans, and drills
• Interface with regulators, first responders, and vendors as needed
• Foster a collaborative team culture and support HR in risk mitigation
