Job summary

The Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis is seeking a Buyer or Senior Buyer to lead complex purchasing activities across a broad range of goods and services. The role focuses on strategic sourcing and partnering with diverse vendors to support Facilities procurement needs.

This on-site position requires strong data-driven decision making, competitive bidding, and collaboration with multiple departments. Salary offers reflect market data and internal equity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or related field.
• Minimum four (4) years of broad-based procurement experience including sourcing and contract negotiations.
• Strong preference for background in facilities related procurements.

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement of complex materials, supplies, equipment, and services.
• Develop purchasing recommendations supported by data, price/cost analysis and financial analysis.
• Lead and manage competitive bidding processes, including RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs.
• Serve as liaison to departments, maintaining procedures for specialized procurement functions.
• Provide training to Bank staff on System and Bank procurement policies/procedures.
• Negotiate cost savings and secure favorable pricing with vendors.
• Identify and resolve complex procurement problems, escalate as needed.
• Lead onboarding of new vendors to procurement programs.
• Prepare clear correspondence and procedures for management and staff.
• Maintain technical proficiency in specialized procurement functions.
