Job summary

The Salvation Army Southern California Division is seeking a Director of Property and Equipment for Orange County. You will lead asset management, space planning, and project oversight, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient facilities and fleets.

This role requires a decade of property and equipment management experience with at least five in leadership, a Bachelor's degree (Master’s preferred), and strong budgetary and contract skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or equivalent professional level experience (minimum of 10 years of experience in property and equipment management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role)
• Master’s degree is preferred
• Driving Test and clean MVR check required
• If working in vicinity of children a criminal background check is required with certification for Protect the Mission policies and procedures
• Proficiency with facilities management software and tools, and a strong understanding of maintenance and repair processes

Responsibilities

• Oversee asset and property management, ensuring optimal utilization and efficiency
• Develop long-term property and equipment strategies aligned with organizational goals
• Prepare and manage budgets for property maintenance, repairs, and upgrades
• Lead and mentor a team of property and equipment professionals
• Ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards
• Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors and service providers
• Oversee space planning and workplace design for efficiency and ergonomics
• Manage fleet maintenance, acquisition, and disposal
• Oversee project management from conception to completion with timelines and budgets
• Maintain project documentation and ensure environmental sustainability
