Job summary

Legends Global is seeking a experienced Purchasing & Event Planning professional for our on-site role at the Hawai‘i Convention Center in Honolulu. You will forecast purchasing needs based on BEOs, manage timelines for large events, and negotiate with vendors to reduce costs while ensuring quality.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years in hospitality procurement, knowledge of inventory systems, and certifications such as LEAD and Serve Safe. Competitive salary and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours.
• Minimum 5-7 years in purchasing, procurement, inventory control, or related operations.
• Knowledge of inventory management systems and POS.
• Customer service oriented with ability to interact with management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
• Strong logistics and analytic skills.
• Ability to develop and produce proposals.
• LEAD Certified and Serve Safe Certified.
• Supervisory or management experience preferred.
• Knowledge of purchasing practices, vendor management, and cost reconciliation.
• Ability to review BEOs/Work Orders and forecast needs.

Responsibilities

• Forecast purchasing needs based on BEOs, attendance, menus, and event schedules.
• Develop purchasing timelines for large-scale events to minimize waste.
• Monitor market conditions and supplier pricing; suggest substitutions.
• Negotiate pricing, service levels, and terms with vendors.
• Manage location spend reports and supplier adherence.
• Oversee receiving, storage, and inventory controls.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and safety standards.
• Coordinate with Culinary, Concessions, Catering, Finance, and Operations.
