Job summary

McKinsey & Company seeks an experienced events professional to lead a portfolio of client and firm events in North America. You will advise on execution, coordinate with event managers and vendors, and ensure alignment with stakeholders' objectives.

Responsibilities include guiding cross-functional collaboration, managing budgets, and traveling to planning sites and events as required. This role sits within the Optimize Events team, delivering strategic meeting expertise and impactful attendee

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required
• 6+ years' experience in strategic meeting planning in a professional services environment
• Demonstrated credible leadership, analytics, problem-solving, project management, and communication skills
• Ability to offer new ideas, constructively challenge conventional wisdom, and work collaboratively
• Skills in leading inclusive problem solving. Able to synthesize insights into clear actionable recommendations and identify creative solutions to complex problems
• Ability to Build Strong Relationships: Establish trust with colleagues across geographies, roles, and levels, and maintain a non-hierarchical approach with strong influencing capabilities
• Ability to travel as required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information effectively to senior leaders and stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Lead portfolio of meetings and events, ensuring flawless execution across stakeholders and vendors
• Advise and align event operations with firm objectives and client expectations
• Collaborate with internal teams to integrate location branding and messaging into programs
• Manage budgets across the portfolio and oversee resource allocation
• Travel to planning sites and key events as needed
