Job summary

ENGIE North America is seeking a Power Congestion Senior Advisor to deliver market analytics for ERCOT congestion trading. You’ll forecast nodal prices, analyze transmission constraints, and support day-ahead and real-time outcomes, working with traders and risk teams.

You’ll rely on production-cost models (Dayzer, PROMOD), power-flow tools (PSS/E, PowerWorld), and SQL/Python to produce repeatable market views and actionable recommendations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field or related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience in wholesale electricity markets and congestion analysis.
• Strong knowledge of ERCOT transmission grid, nodal-market structure, day-ahead and real-time markets.

Responsibilities

• Execute and maintain production-cost models with Dayzer focus.
• Perform power-flow and transmission analyses using PSS/E, PowerWorld, MATPOWER or equivalent.
• Develop scenario studies on load, weather, fuel prices, generation, outages and topology.
• Forecast nodal price components and identify drivers of congestion.
• Calibrate models against actual market outcomes and improve tools.
• Collaborate with traders, risk, IT, and other stakeholders to enhance analyses and controls.
