Job summary

Citigroup Inc. in New York is seeking a VP/AVP level Trader for the Strategic Equity Solutions Fund Financing Trading Desk focused on NAV & LP-Interest Lending. The role strengthens asset analysis, collateral evaluation, and portfolio risk monitoring to improve fundamental views driving trades.

Responsibilities include building Excel models, monitoring loan marks, and ensuring governance with Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Finance. A background in credit analytics and strong modeling is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree / University degree or equivalent experience.
• Master's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform portfolio and asset analysis, collate company/collateral information, evaluate portfolio strength and weakness, and perform red-flag analysis.
• Source and critically evaluate public information (news, sector data, ratings actions) and private sponsor-shared information (valuation reports, LP fund reports, capital account statements, ad-hoc data).
• Assess sponsor reporting quality, valuation frameworks and consistency of application, and track record by PE sponsor.
• Build trend analysis of position marking; cross-check valuations with DCF or comparable-company multiples using normalized EBITDA/EBITDAC; identify valuation anomalies and risk assets requiring further work.
• Discuss data sourcing with Fund Finance team and prioritize extraction from sponsors.
