Job summary

Citigroup Inc. in New York seeks a Vice President Equity Research Analyst to join the Banks research team. You will conduct in-depth research, build financial models, and develop differentiated investment theses for institutional clients globally.

You will engage with management teams, communicate investment views, and collaborate with Citi's Research, Sales, and Trading groups to deliver timely insights while advancing Citi’s research franchise.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of relevant professional experience in equity research or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field.
• Strong understanding of financial statements, valuation methodologies, and fundamental investment analysis.
• Ability to develop and communicate investment theses through high-quality written research and verbal presentations.
• Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills for complex banks and financial institutions.
• Strong understanding of macroeconomic, regulatory, and competitive factors affecting banking.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to engage with institutional investors.
• Securities licenses as required by the role, or ability to obtain.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively while taking ownership of deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth fundamental research and financial analysis across Banks sector companies.
• Develop differentiated investment theses based on fundamentals, dynamics, macro trends, and regulatory developments.
• Build, maintain, and enhance detailed financial models including earnings forecasts and valuation frameworks.
• Author and contribute to high-quality research publications and initiation reports.
• Monitor macro and regulatory developments and assess implications for investors.
• Engage with institutional investors and communicate investment views.
• Build relationships with management teams and market participants.
• Participate in meetings, investor events, and industry conferences.
• Collaborate with Citi teams to deliver timely, differentiated insights.
• Incorporate new data sources and AI-enabled tools to enhance research quality.
