Job summary

Citi is seeking a VP/AVP level Trader for the Strategic Equity Solutions Financing Trading Desk in New York. The role focuses on NAV & LP-Interest Lending, combining credit judgment with quantitative modeling to strengthen asset analysis and portfolio risk monitoring.

Responsibilities include portfolio analysis, data sourcing, loan documentation review, and governance. Strong modeling, valuation, and communication skills are required, with a base salary in a broad NY market range.

Qualifications

• 4–10 years of experience in structured credit, fund finance, distressed/fundamental credit, or financing/trading analytics.
• Fundamental credit and collateral analysis skills, including valuation crosses-checks (DCF and comps).
• Strong financial modeling capability — cash flow, LTV, coverage, and stress-testing.
• Understanding of loan documentation, borrowing-base mechanics, and data reconciliation.
• Analytical and numerical proficiency with clear written and verbal communication.
• Licensing and registrations as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Portfolio and asset analysis, collate information, evaluate risk and red flags.
• Source public and sponsor data, assess reporting quality and sponsor track records.
• Build position analysis using DCF and comps, identify valuation anomalies.
• Investigate legal/financial structures and loan documentation terms.
• Reconcile borrowing base to third-party data and facility documents.
• Own repeatable post-closing reporting and feed outputs to Trading and booking systems.
• Develop dashboards for market data, credit marks, and liquidity views.
• Create Excel models to simulate cash flows and asset realizations; stress-test frameworks.
• Collaborate with control functions to ensure governance and risk controls.
