Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an enterprise architect to own and drive our technology strategy, standards, and roadmap for a global architecture, engineering, and construction firm. This role bridges business strategy and IT execution across a multi-billion dollar technology portfolio.

The incumbent will establish and govern technology standards, guide architects, and support transformational initiatives such as the Blue Horizon program, while mentoring engineers and shaping the future tech

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher with 14+ years of enterprise architecture experience.
• Experience in enterprise integration solutions across multiple applications and platforms.
• Proven ability to influence and lead enterprise integration project execution.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, translating complex tech to business leaders.
• Experience with data architecture, cloud architecture, middleware and related practices.
• Experience in leading governance councils and publishing enterprise technology standards.

Responsibilities

• Translate Business Enablement and corporate strategies into an actionable enterprise technology roadmap.
• Establish, publish, and oversee architecture principles and standards across applications, data, security, and infrastructure.
• Provide architectural direction for key projects prioritized through the Enterprise Transformation Office and corporate portfolio management.
• Mentor technology professionals performing architect roles.
• Identify opportunities to consolidate platforms and reduce technical debt.
• Produce architecture artifacts and stay involved with engineering through implementation.
• Coach engineers on architecture patterns and design decisions.
