Job summary

RELX is seeking a senior Architectural Leader to provide design leadership for a Business Unit, directing large-scale development and infrastructure efforts and evaluating new technologies for executive decision-making.

The role drives architectural direction across multiple teams, ensures governance, and champions engineering best practices while coordinating with Global Architecture and enterprise stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in software, network, or systems architecture.
• BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required; advanced degree required.

Responsibilities

• Plan for the evolution of the Business Unit systems and retire/replace existing ones.
• Provide consultancy, leadership, and promotion of engineering best practices.
• Monitor system health and propose remedies for negative trends.
• Review and approve changes to infrastructure subsystems and components.
• Design architecture for large development or infrastructure efforts.
• Evaluate new technology and acquisition candidates.
• Support information security procedures and security audits.
• Respond to security incidents with rapid solutions.
• Bridge Global Architecture with engineering/development teams.
