Job summary

Northrop Grumman in McLean, VA is seeking an Employee Communications Representative – Level 2 to inform and inspire employees, and to tell compelling stories about our people, technologies, and business priorities. You’ll work across functions to execute strategic campaigns and to draft engaging internal content.

You will collaborate with leaders to develop and measure communications plans, manage calendars, and coordinate events that connect diverse audiences within the Space Systems sector.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing with 2 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing with 0 years of professional experience
• No clearance required to start
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong problem solving, organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Associated Press Style.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Responsibilities

• Inform and inspire employees and drive business priorities within the Space Systems sector
• Collaborate with a cross-functional team to execute campaigns engaging diverse audiences
• Write, draft, edit and help design internal materials, newsletters and employee features
• Be a storyteller with content ranging from articles to videos and infographics
• Represent employee communications on Space Systems Connected Storytelling team and maintain editorial calendars
• Draft talking points, speeches, slides and executive summaries for senior leaders
• Identify and track upcoming wins and milestones and develop sector stories for broader distribution
• Develop and measure internal communications plans aligned with business goals
• Use sector channels to convey priority messages and support enterprise priorities
• Pilot and implement employee communications measurement tools
• Collect data to improve communications, events and activities
• Plan and execute internal events like webcasts, site visits and all-hands
• Lead anniversary recognition programs for Space Systems
• Manage distribution lists, intranet content and key resource mailboxes
• Support change management communications activities
• Maintain internal communications tools and signage
• Ensure plans align with Northrop Grumman brand and strategy
• Collaborate with other Communications and Functional partners
• Other duties as assigned
