Job summary

JEA in Jacksonville, FL seeks an experienced Emergency Management Officer to lead the organization’s continuity and disaster preparedness efforts, aligning with FEMA/NIMS directives and the four phases of the Emergency Management Cycle.

You will coordinate with Duval County EPD, develop and audit the CEMP, manage exercises, and serve as liaison for resources during activations and incidents, ensuring safe, reliable service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
• 5+ years of emergency management and business continuity planning experience.
• Equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training.

Responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate, implement, maintain, exercise, and audit JEAs CEMP across all functional areas.
• Coordinate JEA roles for emergency response per NIMS/ICS requirements.
• Plan, coordinate, and participate in JEA exercises to test CEMP procedures and improve them.
• Serve as liaison between JEA and Duval County EPD and other external agencies during activations.
