Job summary

STO Building Group is seeking an Electrical Procurement Lead in New York City to drive procurement of electrical equipment for multiple projects. You will oversee bidding, supplier selection, and allocation to installing Trade Partners, aligning with design intent and project requirements.

The role emphasizes strategic sourcing, supplier negotiation, risk management, and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams to optimize procurement outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of construction experience in estimating, product selection and equipment procurement.
• Proven ability to analyze complex data and derive actionable insights.
• Extensive negotiation and supplier relationship management experience.
• Knowledge of supply chain risk management practices.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Self-motivated with proactive issue resolution.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies aligned with project goals.
• Gather bids from compatible suppliers and understand design intent behind basis-of-design equipment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align supply chain needs with objectives.
• Identify suppliers, assess capabilities, and ensure compatibility with organizational needs.
• Negotiate terms for lead times and service with suppliers.
• Maintain supplier relationships and conduct performance reviews for continuous improvement.
• Implement risk management to mitigate supply chain disruptions.
• Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes affecting procurement.
