Job summary

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital seeks an Environmental Health & Safety Director to lead a comprehensive EHS program—biological, chemical, radiological, and general safety—across the institution.

You’ll report to the EHS Senior Director and drive compliance initiatives, hazard assessments, and safety program improvements. You will oversee accreditation readiness, develop risk mitigation strategies, and ensure safe operations in facilities and construction projects while fostering a culture

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field is required.
• Master's degree is preferred for advanced leadership in EHS.
• Experience leading large safety programs and teams.
• Experience with budget planning and vendor management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage multiple large safety areas and teams.
• Contribute to safety strategy and roadmaps aligned with institutional goals.
• Drive resource planning and process development for safety leadership.
• Build relationships with stakeholders at multiple levels to drive results.
• Influence external stakeholders through proactive engagement.
• Mentor and develop EHS personnel and provide performance feedback.
• Oversee departmental budget and procurement related to EHS.
• Ensure records and documents are organized for inspections and reports.
