Job summary

CIEE is seeking an Executive Editor for World Language Curriculum to drive editorial leadership for our High School Summer Abroad Language & Culture program. You will shape curriculum across multiple languages, set standards, and manage a team of freelance editors to deliver high-quality materials for U.S.

high school students. Strong candidates will have 7–10 years in educational publishing, fluency in Spanish, and proven ability to balance academic goals with timelines in a fast-paced,

Qualifications

  • 7–10 years editorial experience in educational publishing.
  • Experience leading curriculum development across multiple languages.
  • Fluency in Spanish required; other languages a plus.
  • Experience managing teams of 4–6 contributors.
  • Strong knowledge of ACTFL proficiency guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead editorial development across Spanish, French, Italian, and German.
  • Define product specs, standards, and workflows.
  • Translate priorities into curriculum architecture and materials.
  • Oversee freelance editors and ensure quality.
  • Collaborate with HSOB Academics, Sales, and Marketing.
  • Train instructors and develop training materials.
  • Evaluate manuscripts and manage feedback cycles.
  • Oversee copyright and permissions.
