Job summary

Youth Villages is seeking a content strategist and editor to join our Digital Communications Department. This role will create, edit, and manage high-quality content across digital campaigns, social media, websites, and newsletters, while ensuring consistency with brand tone and AP style.

The editor will collaborate with stakeholders across departments, optimize content for search engines, and help produce cohesive messaging for Youth Villages, Memphis Allies, and Janie’s Fund.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Marketing or a related field.
• 3-5 years of professional writing/editing or digital content experience.
• Exceptional editorial ability across grammar, tone and formatting.
• AP style expertise; familiarity with SEO best practices.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; InCopy experience is a plus.
• Experience developing and executing content strategies aligned with goals.
• Strong project management, deadlines and multitasking skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; cross-functional collaboration.
• Self-motivated and adaptable to fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Writes, edits, proofs and optimizes content for digital campaigns, social media and marketing materials.
• Writes for websites, blogs, landing pages and newsletters with brand alignment.
• Ensures content follows AP style and SEO best practices.
• Reviews website content for accuracy and currency; collaborates across departments.
• Produces campaign briefs and copy for integrated marketing initiatives.
• Conducts research and fact-checking to ensure relevance and impact.
• Tracks industry trends to keep content strategy fresh and innovative.
• Assists with additional content creation and editing tasks as needed by the manager.
