Job summary

Village of Mundelein seeks an Economic Development Specialist/Planner in the Community Development Department to guide redevelopment, analyze market conditions, and support long-range planning initiatives.

The role emphasizes relationship-building with developers, officials, businesses, and residents, coordinates incentives and zoning updates, prepares reports, and presents findings to the Village Board to advance a vibrant, business-friendly community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field from an accredited college.
• CEcD certification preferred or ability to obtain.
• Experience in economic development and urban planning preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review development proposals for consistency with the Comprehensive Plan.
• Coordinate long-range planning documents and corridor plans.
• Prepare planning reports, maps, and public-facing materials.
• Collaborate with staff on development review and project management.
• Present recommendations at public meetings and to the Village Board.
