Job summary

Acloché LLC in Lakewood Township, NJ seeks a market-driven Strategic Purchaser to manage and grow our e-commerce and dropship purchasing program. This role requires independent thinking, strong supplier relationships, and ownership of purchases from start to finish.

You will monitor market pricing, identify opportunities, negotiate terms, and optimize inventory while coordinating with sales and other teams to maximize margins and reduce risks.

• Strong market instincts and ability to identify and negotiate deals.
• Ability to act quickly, make independent decisions, and take responsibility for results.
• Strong supplier relationships and understanding of margins, inventory turns, cash flow, and risk.
• Organized and analytical, with clear communication of purchasing decisions.
• Collaborative mindset and willingness to share information to scale purchasing operations.
• Experience in product trading, collector or closeout stock, retail arbitrage, or other ecommerce sourcing.

Responsibilities

• Stay on top of market pricing, product trends, promotions, and supply and demand.
• Decide when to buy, wait, or pass on a deal, and determine stock quantities.
• Build and maintain a broad network of direct distributors, wholesalers, traders, and other suppliers.
• Negotiate competitive pricing and terms; own financial outcomes of purchases.
• Monitor inventory, sales trends, and market prices; adjust pricing or stock as needed.
• Identify new brands, products, and trends; test opportunities in controlled quantities.
• Coordinate with sales, purchasing, and other teams before buying and when inventory needs to be sold through.
• Communicate purchases, market changes, risks, and backup plans; maintain supplier records.
