Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sioux Empire is seeking a Director of Development to drive annual and major gifts, identify prospective donors, and lead face-to-face engagement with individuals, corporations, and foundations. You will partner with the executive team to meet fundraising goals and steward long-term philanthropic investments.

The role requires coordinating with leadership, finance, marketing, and grants to advance campaigns, events, and sponsorships while maintaining compliant donor

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
• Five years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, event planning, or nonprofit development is preferred.
• Ability to work some evenings and weekends for events and donor engagement activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with development and executing a strategic multi-year resource development plan in collaboration with the executive team and Board of Directors.
• Assist the Chief Development Officer in setting annual fundraising goals and budgets, implement strategies to exceed targets, and monitor the resource development budget to ensure alignment with donor stewardship and financial recordkeeping.
• Lead special fundraising initiatives in leadership, annual, major gifts, endowments, and planned giving, in coordination with the CEO and Chief Development Officer.
• Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward individual, corporate, and foundation gifts.
• Engage with new prospects through outreach calls and meetings (in-person or virtual) to identify and qualify potential donors.
• Manage a portfolio of assigned donors with individualized cultivation and solicitation strategies.
• Track the complete donor lifecycle including identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
• Collaborate with the finance team to process, receipt, and acknowledge gifts according to procedures.
• Analyze development activities and provide data for reports to leadership, the Board, and committees.
• Assist in planning events and securing sponsorships and donations.
• Collaborate with marketing to develop materials for campaigns, events, and initiatives.
• Coordinate with Grants Manager to align fundraising strategies and donor campaigns.
• Develop content for annual fund direct mail and other development programs.
• Ensure ethical and compliant operation by following agency policies.
