Job summary

Chattanooga College MDTC is seeking a Program Director of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) to provide strategic leadership and management of the DMS program, supporting curriculum development, accreditation compliance, and student success in a hybrid learning environment.

The role requires experience in curriculum development, program accreditation (CAAHEP/JRC-DMS), and collaboration with clinical partners, with emphasis on equity, access, and excellence in instruction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Current and valid sonography credentials (RDMS/RDCS/RVT).
• 3–5 years of diagnostic medical sonography experience.
• At least 2 years as a credentialed sonographer.
• At least 2 years in supervisory/leadership/educational coordinator roles.
• Prior teaching in higher education, preferably hybrid or online.

Responsibilities

• Provides oversight and support to a diverse population of students and faculty.
• Implements priorities related to retention, completion, engagement, and accreditation compliance.
• Counsels or advises individuals through sessions to address concerns and provide guidance.
• Educates individuals on institutional resources, policies, procedures, and expectations.
• Implements technology solutions to promote efficiency, access, and success in a hybrid environment.
• Completes required professional development and training annually.
• Maintains documentation in compliance with accreditation and FERPA.
• Collaborates with departments to increase engagement and student success.
• Provides referrals for personal, social, or academic concerns.
• Assists with planning events like Orientation and Graduation.
