Job summary

Plymouth-Canton Community Schools seeks a Chief Finance and Operations Officer to lead financial management and district operations. You will direct accounting, facilities, transportation, food service, and capital planning to support instructional programs.

The role requires extensive public school finance experience, strategic planning skills, and the ability to work with the Superintendent and district leadership to ensure financial health and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Master’s in Business or CPA preferred.
• Michigan School Business Official Certification or equivalent; MSBO CFO Certification preferred.
• Minimum five years’ experience in public school district finance and Operations.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and governmental accounting.
• Experience with audits, public grants, bonds and capital programs, cash flow, and debt management.
• Ability to lead large teams and communicate complex financial information.

Responsibilities

• Oversee district accounting, business and finance operations and facilities management.
• Provide direction on purchasing and contract management.
• Forecast, develop, publish and monitor all district budgets.
• Ensure compliant financial reporting and audit readiness.
• Communicate financial information to the Board, staff and public.
• Lead strategic planning for capital improvements and debt management.
• Supervise Executive Director of Finance & Accounting and other senior finance staff.
