Job summary

The Plymouth-Canton Community Schools is seeking a Chief Finance and Operations Officer to lead financial management, facilities, transportation, food service and capital programs. The role reports to the Superintendent and serves on the CORE leadership team, guiding strategic planning and district-wide financial decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Master’s degree in Business or CPA; CPA preferred.
• MSBO CFO Certification preferred.
• Minimum five years of experience in public school district finance and Operations.
• Experience in public school finance, budget development, forecasting and monitoring; governance accounting, audits, bonds and capital programs, cash flow management, grants, vendor contracts, facilities, transportation and food service oversight.

Responsibilities

• Assumes overall responsibility for accounting, business, finance operations, facilities maintenance, contract management and food service operations.
• Provides direction and support regarding purchasing and contract management.
• Forecasts, develops and monitors all district budgets and reports to state and board officials.
• Ensures compliance with statutes and policies; communicates financial information to board, committees and the public.
• Oversees capital programs, investments, debt service and risk management.
• Supervises key finance staff and participates in strategic planning for district improvements.
