Job summary

Delaware State University seeks an Executive Director of Admissions to provide strategic leadership for all undergraduate admissions functions, including recruitment, processing, and enrollment initiatives. The role drives a comprehensive strategy to meet enrollment and net tuition goals, working with leadership and stakeholders to build pipelines and partnerships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
• Seven or more years in higher education admissions or enrollment management, with supervisory or leadership experience.
• Experience with budgeting and fiscal management.
• Proven ability to evaluate and utilize data to meet enrollment goals.
• Ability to lead and develop admissions staff and coordinate cross‑department collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Develops and updates a comprehensive strategic recruitment and enrollment plan aligned with university goals.
• Oversee admissions cycle for first-year, transfer, international and readmitted students.
• Ensure compliant processing of applications in line with policy and regulations.
• Establish admissions policies with the Faculty Senate, deans, and Registrar.
• Lead CRM‑driven marketing, communication and outreach initiatives to maximize engagement.
• Manage annual admissions operating budget and staffing resources.
• Design recruitment travel, events, campus visit programs and Open Houses.
• Build relationships with high school counselors and feeder institutions.
• Develop targeted recruitment strategies for priority populations.
• Oversee hiring and training of admissions staff; foster a high‑performing team.
• Set recruitment goals and monitor performance; report to leadership.
• Serve as spokesperson for admissions; collaborate on publications and campaigns.
• Respond to sensitive admissions issues; use data analytics for decisions.
• Ensure NCAA/Title IX/FERPA compliance; prepare enrollment reports for leadership.
• Advise executive leadership on admissions policies and processes.
