Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Supply Chain, Business, or Engineering.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in purchasing, procurement, estimating, or construction leadership within residential homebuilding.
• Experience managing purchasing and estimating across multiple divisions, markets, or locations.
• Strong understanding of residential construction practices, materials, estimating, procurement, and cost control.

Responsibilities

• Establish and execute the company's overall purchasing strategy across multiple divisions and markets.
• Set departmental goals, monitor performance, provide coaching, and support employee development.
• Create and maintain consistent purchasing procedures, policies, scopes of work, contracts, and procurement standards.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key vendors, subcontractors, manufacturers, and suppliers.
• Identify potential supply chain challenges and develop strategies to minimize disruptions.
• Oversee estimating activities, including takeoffs, house costs, options, specifications, and pricing.
• Establish processes that improve cost accuracy and provide reliable information for decision-making.
• Lead value-engineering initiatives designed to improve efficiency and manage costs without compromising quality or the homeowner experience.
• Collaborate with Architecture and Design leadership during the development and introduction of new home plans and products.
• Establish vendor scorecards and performance-management processes.
• Monitor rebate opportunities, supplier programs, and other initiatives that contribute to overall cost savings.
• Ensure ERP, estimating, purchasing, and construction management systems contain current and reliable data.
• Provide leadership with clear reporting on costs, vendor performance, purchasing activity, and opportunities for improvement.
