Job summary

Doherty Steel Inc. is seeking a Director of Project Management to provide strategic leadership for the project management department and project portfolio.

You will coordinate with estimating, detailing, purchasing, fabrication, logistics, field operations, and executive leadership to deliver complex structural steel projects. You will lead the PM team, establish standards, and ensure projects are staffed, planned, executed, and financially managed from turnover through closeout, while engaging

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferred; equivalent combinations considered.
• 8–10 years of progressively responsible project management experience in structural steel fabrication/erection.
• 3–5 years of experience leading, mentoring, or supervising Project Managers or project personnel.
• Experience managing complex, large-scale commercial construction projects.
• Professional certifications in project management or related disciplines desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop the Project Management team and establish accountability across projects.
• Ensure projects are staffed, planned, executed, documented, and financially managed from turnover to closeout.
• Provide leadership in high-risk or complex projects and ensure client satisfaction.
• Develop and maintain standardized PM processes, reporting, and best practices.
• Manage project turnover meetings and ensure smooth transition from estimating to execution.
