Job summary

Charles Schwab seeks a Director to lead the Long/Short SMA Program Office, owning strategy and cross-functional execution. You will translate complex inputs into crisp options for senior leadership and oversee governance forums, steering committee materials, and risk management.

Build a high-caliber team and drive multi-year initiatives with executive presence. The role demands strategic judgment, autonomy, and strong collaboration across Treasurer, Operations, Tech, Risk, and Advisor Services

Qualifications

• Proven strategy capabilities in management consulting, corporate strategy, or strategic functions within complex financial services.
• Experience owning end-to-end strategic analysis and materials for executive decisions.
• Strong influencing skills with senior-level presence across a matrixed organization.
• 10+ years in leadership within financial services or advisory firms.
• Experience leading multi-year cross-functional programs in large organizations.
• Ability to build high-performing teams and develop talent.
• Comfort leading at both executive and working-team levels.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive results autonomously.
• Expert storytelling and slide-writing to guide decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Long/Short SMA Program Office and own program strategy.
• Orchestrate cross-functional workstreams and governance rhythms.
• Prepare executive materials for Steering Committee and Board discussions.
• Manage program plan, milestones, risks, and escalation processes.
• Partner with Treasury, Operations, Technology, Risk, Compliance, and Advisor Services.
