Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp. is seeking a senior leader in learning and development to steer enterprise leadership programs and employee development across multiple locations, including NJ. You will design curricula, lead a team of specialists, and align initiatives with business priorities.

The role requires 10+ years in L&D, 5+ years in leadership roles, and expertise in ADDIE and adult learning principles. On-site work at FirstEnergy locations is expected and governance of programs is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Organizational Development, Leadership Development, or related field.
• 10+ years in learning and development, leadership development, talent development, training, or organizational development.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing teams, programs, and organizational initiatives.
• Experience designing, developing, and implementing leadership and employee development programs within a complex organization.
• Knowledge of instructional design methodologies (ADDIE) and adult learning principles.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and direction for enterprise leadership and employee development programs across FirstEnergy.
• Lead the design, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of curricula and learning experiences.
• Oversee programs for aspiring leaders, supervisors, managers, directors, and executive leaders; support career growth resources.
• Manage and develop a team of learning and development professionals (instructional design, facilitation, program management).
• Establish enterprise standards and governance for learning programs, design, facilitation quality, and evaluation.
• Partner with business leaders and HR to assess capability needs and align development strategies to priorities.
• Drive modern learning methodologies and technology-enabled solutions.
• Develop goals, metrics, budgets, and measures to ensure business impact.
