Job summary

Cardinal Health’s GMPD segment seeks a Director, Transportation – First/Middle Mile to provide centralized leadership for U.S. first and middle mile transportation across manufacturing sites, cross docks and replenishment centers.

You will lead about 20 professionals, manage a ~$200M budget, and drive cost efficiency, service levels and on-time performance while collaborating with internal teams and carrier partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 15+ years in transportation/logistics with leadership exposure.
• Experience managing large transportation budgets and vendor relationships.
• Strong analytical and data-driven decision making.
• Proven ability to lead multi-site transportation operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for U.S. first and middle mile transportation operations across sites.
• Lead and mentor a ~20-person transportation team.
• Own and manage a transportation budget of ~US$200M; drive cost efficiency and on-time performance.
• Drive network optimization, routing efficiency, capacity planning and cost-to-serve reductions.
• Oversee transportation procurement, carrier sourcing, and vendor management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize network flow and strategy.
• Establish and enforce transportation policies and governance.
