Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin—Harry Ransom Center is seeking an Associate Director for Exhibitions & Education to provide strategic leadership for the exhibitions program and related educational activities.

You will oversee exhibitions, public programs, fellowships, and instructional initiatives, coordinating with curators, educators, and campus partners to broaden engagement with the Center’s collections.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in one of the Ransom Center’s areas of collection strength (e.g., literature, theatre, film, photography, or art).
• Experience leading major cross-departmental initiatives or complex projects.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Demonstrated record of scholarly or professional publication.
• Flexibility to work on site on some weekends and evenings.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for exhibitions program and educational activities.
• Plan and manage active schedule of public exhibitions and programs.
• Collaborate across departments to deliver engaging visitor experiences.
• Oversee fellowship program and engagement with faculty, fellows, and students.
• Promote programs with communications and development colleagues.
