Job summary

Harvard University SEAS seeks an entrepreneurial, externally oriented leader to become its inaugural Executive Director for Corporate Research Partnerships. Reporting to the Dean for Research, this role shapes SEAS's strategy for corporate partnerships and external funding, while serving as the principal external representative to industry and the corporate research community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in engineering, computer science, physical or life sciences or related field.
• 15 years of experience with a bachelor’s, 12 with a master’s or 10 with a PhD in business development or partnerships.
• Proven track record originating, developing and closing significant research partnerships or collaborations.

Responsibilities

• Corporate Partnership Strategy: develop and execute a high-potential portfolio of partnerships.
• Originate, develop and close multi-year research funding opportunities from engagement to alliances.
• Build trusted relationships with senior industry leaders and funders to create funded opportunities.
• Develop alliance concepts aligning corporate priorities with SEAS expertise and long-term value.
• Advise leadership on trends in corporate R&D and strategic opportunities, including foundations when relevant.
