Job summary

McKesson is seeking a Director of Accounting & Advisory within the Financial Advisory and Technical Center of Excellence. The role provides accounting oversight for complex areas and strategic initiatives, partnering with Corporate leadership to address accounting matters and business decisions.

The leader will guide a team, ensure high-quality financial reporting, and drive transformation across the function.

Qualifications

• 12+ years progressive accounting, finance, audit or advisory experience
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing teams and developing talent
• CPA certification is required
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related discipline
• Experience leading complex accounting matters in a large public company or public accounting environment
• Experience working in a complex matrixed organization

Responsibilities

• Lead technical accounting matters and close leadership across complex areas (captive insurance, equity investments, hedging, share-based compensation, restructurings)
• Ensure timely and accurate accounting conclusions, journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting
• Forecasting and budgeting support with key stakeholders
• Partner with Corporate FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Legal, HR and business leadership on strategic initiatives
• Present accounting conclusions and recommendations to senior executives
• Lead, develop, and mentor accounting professionals and drive process improvements
• Maintain internal controls and SOX compliance; mitigate risks and ensure policy adherence
