Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; five years progressively responsible experience with at least two in management.
• Experience in purchasing services or contract negotiations.
• Demonstrated ability to organize and direct the work of others.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work with diverse teams.
• Ability to perform essential functions with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops and implements policies and procedures for Contracting & Purchasing Services, University Stores, and Central Mailroom.
• Manages staff responsible for contracting, purchasing, receiving, storing, moving, distributing and monitoring goods and services.
• Ensures compliance with University contracting policies and processes.
• Oversees competitive proposals and bidding; guides departments through RFI/RFP processes.
• Negotiates contracts with vendors and manages supplier relationships.
• Prepares cost analyses on university spend and contracts; supports feasibility studies.
• Monitors grant-funded activities related to purchasing; ensures compliance with laws and regulations.
