The University of Rochester is seeking a Director of Planning, Design & Construction (PDC) to lead a complex portfolio of capital projects across the Medical Center, Academic, and Research campuses.

This highly visible leadership role oversees projects from planning through occupancy while guiding a multidisciplinary team of project management professionals to deliver safely, on schedule, and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline.
• 10+ years leading complex capital planning, design, and construction projects.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary project management teams and staff development.
• Proven track record managing large capital portfolios with budget, schedule, quality, and risk responsibility.
• Experience in healthcare, higher education, research environments preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction delivery methods and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsabilités

• Lead a complex capital project portfolio valued between $100M–$250M annually.
• Oversee projects from planning through occupancy.
• Ensure delivery of scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk objectives.
• Mentor and develop a multidisciplinary team.
• Drive continuous improvement and resource allocation across the portfolio.
• Oversee capital budgets, consultant selection, procurement, contracts, and financial performance.
• Monitor project risks and mitigation strategies.
• Provide governance across Planning, Design & Construction.
