Job summary

Iowa Public Employees’ Retirement System (IPERS) is seeking a proactive communications leader to join the Strategy Division. You will craft and deliver digital content strategies to educate IPERS’ 450,000 members about their retirement plan and to elevate outreach with modern media assets.

Ideal candidates will bring strong writing, video, and design skills, plus experience in social media and website management.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college with a degree in journalism, public relations, graphic design, or communications.
• Four years of full-time work planning and developing content for dissemination through traditional media and online channels.
• A total of four years of education and/or full-time experience as described, with relevant coursework substituting for experience.
• Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch at an Information Specialist 2 level.

Responsibilities

• Develop dynamic resources that educate IPERS’ 450,000 members about their retirement plan.
• Create and implement a content strategy using modern digital assets.
• Collaborate with a small team and subject matter experts to align digital communications with organizational goals.
