Job summary

IPERS in Des Moines, Iowa seeks an experienced Retirement Investment Officer Senior to oversee IPERS’ private markets portfolio, valued at over $14 billion, including private credit and real assets. You will evaluate and underwrite fund investments, manage existing relationships and support the growth of our internal co-investment program.

Qualifications

• Degree in finance/economics/business or quantitative field with 5 years of investment portfolio management experience.
• Three years of portfolio management plus related coursework: 30 semester hours = 1 year; 24 graduate hours = 1 year.
• Experience in the state executive branch with 18 months as Retirement Investment Officer.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and underwrite private credit and real asset fund investments.
• Manage existing investment manager relationships.
• Support expansion of IPERS internal co-investment program.
