Job summary

North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University is seeking an Associate Vice Chancellor for Development to lead strategic fundraising efforts during a pivotal growth phase. This role reports to the Interim Vice Chancellor for University Advancement and manages programs spanning annual giving, major gifts, corporate/foundation relations, and planned giving.

The AVC will mentor staff, secure six- and seven-figure gifts, and establish metrics and strategies to support a university-wide

Qualifications

• Five years of progressively responsible leadership experience within a mature development program.
• Experience in higher education fundraising.
• Track record of cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major gifts at six- and seven-figure levels.
• Willingness to travel and work evenings or weekends.
• Ability to design and implement development strategies and lead campaigns.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight for central fundraising programs, including annual giving, major gifts, and planned giving.
• Lead donor relationships, secure major gifts, and coach development staff to meet fundraising goals.
• Establish performance metrics and implement best-practice fundraising strategies.
• Drive fundraising infrastructure improvements and guide a high-performing development team.
• Collaborate with campus leadership to translate momentum into philanthropic growth.
