Job summary

The UNM Foundation in Albuquerque seeks a Director of Development for the College of Nursing to lead a comprehensive program, advance fundraising strategies, and align with college leadership and foundation staff.

The role focuses on major and planned gifts, working with the Dean and senior leaders to identify prospects, cultivate relationships, and steward donors, with a strong emphasis on philanthropy and community engagement.

Qualifications

• Experience in higher education or other non-profit organization.
• Proven ability to close large private gifts.
• At least 3 years of successful fundraising and development experience, preferably in higher education.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement a comprehensive development program with college leadership and UNM Foundation staff.
• Identify prospects, develop strategies leading to solicitation, and steward major donors.
• Collaborate with the Dean, VP for HSC Development, SVP of Development, staff and volunteers.
• Focus on identifying, cultivating and soliciting major and planned gifts.
