Job summary

Prosperity Now, a national nonprofit based in Washington, DC, seeks a Chief Development and Communications Officer to drive fundraising, brand, and strategic communications. The role reports to the President/CEO and sits on the Leadership Team, guiding staff toward Prosperity Now’s mission and growth.

The CDCO leads major gifts, grants, planned giving, and donor stewardship, while shaping marketing, advocacy, and public affairs to advance organizational priorities.

Qualifications

• At least ten years of combined fundraising and communications experience.
• Experience securing major gifts and funding.
• Ability to lead, coach, and inspire staff.
• Donor-centric, results-oriented approach to fundraising.
• Experience managing grants programs.

Responsibilities

• Design and lead communications, marketing, and fundraising strategies.
• Build major gifts relationships and close gifts.
• Oversee grants program and endowment initiatives.
• Manage donor engagement, events, and stewardship.
• Maintain brand integrity and consistent messaging.
• Lead staff and collaborate with the Leadership Team.
