Qualifications

• Progress towards a college degree required, preferably in Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Computer/Data Science or related field.
• A college junior or above required. Recent graduates must be within six months of graduation.
• Experience with data modeling and analytics required.
• Familiarity with strategic planning methodologies, financial analysis, and data engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct market analyses using external vendor data and industry insights to evaluate market trends and opportunities; present findings in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Research, analyze, and synthesize developments within the orthopedic industry and market dynamics.
• Support long-range planning and forecasting; maintain and enhance forecasting models and contribute to strategic planning.
• Gain exposure to corporate development through participation in meetings and business planning initiatives.
• Assist in developing and enhancing Power BI dashboards and reports to transform data into actionable insights.

The Strategic Development team in Naples, FL is responsible for supporting product development with strategic planning, data analytics and corporate development activities. The successful candidate will perform various projects related to these topics with guidance from the Strategic Development Team. The individual will also work within the requirements of their tasks to deliver results and communicate issues in a timely and accurate manner. This internship will run from May 2027 – August 2027. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 40 hours per week at our Naples, FL facility.

Main Objective:

To better understand the theories, ideas, and practices of Strategic Planning, Data Analytics and Corporate Development by actively engaging in a hands-on, work-based, learning experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct market analyses using external vendor data and industry insights to evaluate market trends, assess growth opportunities, and support strategic decision-making. Present findings through Excel-based data analysis and PowerPoint presentations.
• Research, analyze, and synthesize key developments within the orthopedic industry, including competitor performance, market dynamics, and quarterly earnings reports.
• Support long-range planning and forecasting initiatives through the use of planning tools and data analytics. Maintain and enhance forecasting models, identify opportunities for process improvements and automation, and contribute to strategic planning efforts across key markets and regions.
• Gain exposure to corporate development activities through participation in departmental meetings, strategic discussions, and business planning initiatives.
• Assist in the development and enhancement of Power BI dashboards and reports, transforming data into actionable insights to support business decision-making and performance monitoring.

Education and Experience:

• Progress towards a college degree required, preferably in Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Computer/Data Science or a related field. A college junior or above required. (Recent graduates must be within six months of their graduation date to qualify.)
• Experience with data modeling and analytics required.
• Familiarity with strategic planning methodologies, financial analysis, and data engineering preferred.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

• Basic to intermediate computer skills.
• Be able to follow written and verbal direction.
• Strong organizational and time management skills required.

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

PC; Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook; PowerPoint; Word and Excel. Fax; Scanner.
