Job summary

Northeastern Illinois University Foundation is seeking a Deputy Director to provide strategic operational leadership for Advancement Services within the NEIU Foundation and the Division of Institutional Advancement. The role acts as a thought partner to the VP and Executive Director.

Responsibilities span governance, data systems management (Raiser’s Edge NXT, Financial Edge NXT), change management for database initiatives, and transparent reporting to boards and donors with a focus on

Qualifications

• Eleven (11) years of progressively responsible management work experience.
• Eight (8) years in the area of designated specialization.
• Three (3) years supervising the work of a professional staff or process within the designated specialization.
• Bachelor’s degree may be substituted for the above three (3) years non-specialized experience requirement.
• Master’s degree may be substituted for one (1) year specialized work experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary liaison to the NEIU Foundation Board of Directors and its Investment Committee; prepare and present complex financial data, investment strategy analyses, and compliance briefings for committee and full Board meetings.
• Direct the operations, administration, and policy development of CRM and financial platforms (Raiser’s Edge NXT, Financial Edge NXT) and ensure data integrity.
• Lead change management planning for database evaluation, selection, or migration and coordinate staff readiness during transitions.
• Oversee Foundation reporting, compliance, and transparency, including donor communications and public stewardship.
• Coordinate internal controls, audit readiness, and collaboration with auditors and university policies.
