Job summary

San Joaquin County is seeking a Deputy County Administrator or Senior Deputy County Administrator to lead broad administrative, financial, and policy work. The role includes multi-department budget prep, quarterly fiscal reporting, and ongoing budget monitoring, reporting to County leadership and the Board.

The ideal candidate brings strong financial and budget analysis, excellent communication, and experience presenting complex information.

Qualifications

• Four years of managerial, fiscal, personnel, or governmental administrative and/or analytical work.
• Two years of which must have been at a level equivalent to Management Analyst III in San Joaquin County.
• Five years for Senior Deputy with one year of program planning/execution at Deputy level.

Responsibilities

• Direct, coordinate, and advise on administrative, financial, and policy activities across departments.
• Budget preparation, quarterly fiscal reporting, and ongoing annual budget monitoring.
• Develop and implement complex policies and/or initiatives; present financial data to the Board and county leadership.
