Karuk Tribe Of California seeks a Deputy Chief Financial Officer to safeguard fiscal integrity, supervise finance staff, and liaise with external bodies. You will guide budgeting, reporting, and compliance, ensuring timely, accurate financial information for the Tribal Council.

The role requires CPA, GAAP knowledge, and extensive grant management experience, with responsibilities spanning HRSA/UDS/OSHPD reporting and audit coordination.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field.
• Five+ years of management-level accounting/financial experience.
• Grant administration and management experience (over 200 grants and/or $200M).
• Knowledge of GAAP, federal regulations, and OMB rules.
• Ability to communicate with boards and management on financial issues.

Responsabilidades

• Act as CFO surrogate and provide financial guidance to tribal leadership.
• Prepare monthly financial/operating reports and respond to requests for reports.
• Analyze funding trends and advise on revenue/expenditure implications.
• Attend council and health board meetings to provide financial advice.
• Prepare HRSA/UDS/OSHPD reports as directed.
• Prepare indirect cost proposals and negotiate with DOI.
• Create RFPs for audit services and evaluate proposals.
• Ensure external auditors' checklists are completed prior to fieldwork.
• Review grants/contracts prior to council approval.
• Evaluate economic development proposals for payback.
